Buyer requires to ship out cargo before they settle payment for the shipment. How can Asiatrans assist to ensure that shipper gets paid in due time?Normally, an original house bill of lading is issued to shipper upon departure. Shipper has the right to hold the original copy of the bill of lading unless financial obligation (or agreement) of buyer/importer/consignee are met. On the assumption that shipper has no payment concerns with its buyer, said document is turned over to consignee(buyer) for the latter to present and surrender to the “delivery agent” or counterpart agent at destination for the purposes of claiming ownership over said cargo. In case of unavailability of the original house bill of lading, Asiatrans strictly requires that the original copy from importer be surrendered. Absence of which shall prompt Asiatrans to get clearance from its origin agent for the release. Rest assured that Asiatrans will not release cargo to consignee if any one of below are not met: a) surrender of original copy of the house bill of lading, b) prior notice of express release shipment from origin agent; c) written instruction from origin agent for release of shipment without presentation of original house bill of lading**3. Can Asiatrans assist to compute my shipping cost before I ship out or ship in? **Yes, we can. All we need to know are the following: cargo description, number of packages, cargo dimension and approximate weight per package, origin and destination port and estimated commercial value of cargo. We need to understand the specific type of service that is required, for us to effectively prepare a quotation.4. I want to know what are the documentary requirement on both origin and destination ports to ensure smooth facilitation of my shipment.
